Pain is one of the most powerful and feared sensations in the human experience. Whether it’s physical, mental or emotional, there are many different types of pain people live through, but it is an inevitable reality because it is a part of being human.
So much of modern life has been designed to keep us from feeling discomfort and pain, and as a result, humanity has developed many ways to cope; repression, over eating, legal or illegal drugs, and alcohol are just some of the coping methodologies.
At the Institute for Hermetic Philosophy we have learned to look at pain from another perspective - not as an experience to be fearful of, avoid, or deny, but as information or signs pointing out something we can learn from, which might help us to evolve.
During this interactive workshop, we will introduce simple tools, discussions and exercises that enable us to explore the suffering as something other than punishment or an obstacle, but to embrace the experience and use it as a gateway into a deeper understanding and a more conscious daily life.
Join Carol Haggerty and David Owens for a profound workshop in looking at all life's challenges as gifts to grow our spirit and evolve as human beings.
